New Medium-Duty Line at Kenworth

SAINT-LAURENT (Québec)

On April 5th, Kenworth unveiled its new line of conventional medium-duty trucks, which will be built here at PACCAR’s Ste-Thérèse plant. The new models are the Kenworth T180 (Class 5), Kenworth T280 (Class 6), Kenworth T380 (Class 7) and Kenworth T480 (light Class 8). They set the industry standard for quality, performance, reliability and durability.

Kenworth’s new medium-duty trucks are designed to meet a wide variety of applications, including cargo and reefer vans, towing, utility, fuel oil and propane, landscaping, fire services, dump and mixer.


Overview of the new Medium-Duty Line:

  • Available with PACCAR PX-7 2021 engine (325hp), PACCAR PX-9 2021 engine (380hp) and Cummins Westport L9N (320hp) natural gas engine;
  • New PACCAR TX-8 automatic transmission;
  • 3 types of hoods: short aero hood (107.5″ BBC), medium aero hood (109.5-inch BBC) and Kenworth professional “sloped” hood (T380V and T480V);
  • Spacious 2.1-meter wide cab with a 3-person seating bench (standard for Kenworth T180, T280 and T380, optional for T480);
  • Larger front windshield and the hood’s steep slope improve visibility by 17%;
  • Cab lowered by up to 2 inches;
  • 7-inch high-definition digital display centered between four standard analog gauges;
